Janet is working on a story for an anthology to be published by Harcourt Brace. Her story is about a Mouse who lives in a shoe. She has many friends that want to come and live with her. Some of them are characters from Janet's books! Today Janet drew the beginnings of several pages for this book. These are done as pencil drawings on brown, handmade paper. The next step is to fill in the characters with white paint called gesso. The final step is to paing the colors over the gesso. That will happen to these pages over the next few days. You can also see the bouquet of flowers Janet painted this weekend. She likes having flowers around the house. Do you recognize the dishwasher from "To Market, To Market"?
