Janet is working on a story for an anthology to be published by Harcourt Brace. Her story is about a Mouse who lives in a shoe. She has many friends that want to come and live with her. Some of them are characters from Janet's books! These pictures show early work on the final art for a page featuring the Tortoise and the Hare. This page is close to being done. Janet is working with water color pencils (which she has never used before), gesso, and watercolor.
