Janet has just finished a book called "My Big Dog". It was written by Janet and her sister Susie. It will be published during spring 1999 by Golden Books.
My Big Dog is a real-life story about two of Janet's Pets. The narrator of the story is the Merlin, who came to live with Janet during the summer many years ago. At that time he was small and scared. It was hard to get close enough to Merlin to pet him. After a couple of weeks of eating cat food on the patio, Merlin decided to move in. Now he is a VERY LARGE CAT and, at least he believes, the king of the house.
	The second character in the story is Janet's dog, Violet. Violet is a golden retriever who came to live with us during the spring of 1997. At that time she was just a puppy, full of energy and looking for someone to play with. There were three cats living at our house at that time. Abo and Domino slowly became friends with Violet. Merlin did not.
Violet wants to be friends with everyone, even Merlin. No matter what she tried with Merlin, he just became madder and grumpier. He was very upset to have a dog living in HIS HOUSE.
	Finally, Merlin gave up the roost. He traveled out into the world, looking for a new home again. He definitely wanted a home without any dogs.
Merlin's adventures in the world were not that great. They involved some children who were not very friendly (special guest appearance in the book by Janet's son Blake).
	And a woman (special guest appearance in the book by Janet)....
who loves to fix up cats..
	After several other adventures, Merlin was rescued by an unexpected friend and .......
