Color Separations from "Tortoise and the Hare".

The first column shows the black and white drawings that I did for the blue, red, and yellow colors on this page and the black line drawing that is the background. The second column shows how each of those overlays was printed and the final. If something in the final drawing was going to be blue, like the sky, I drew it in the blue overlay. If I needed dark red, like in the Hare's scarf, I drew dark grey on the red overlay. The circles and lines on the right edge and top of the page are called "registration marks". They are used to line up all four layers. The text that will be on this page is cut out and stuck to the bottom of the page with tape.
